The Worknet Leadership Team oversees the operation of the Worknet Employment Resource Center and is made up of the partner organizations working together to address the employment needs of Merced. Currently, there are up to 14 partners providing much needed services to businesses, job seekers, and students of Merced County.
The Department of Workforce Investment (WI) was designated by the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) and the Board of Supervisors to serve as the One-Stop Operator. WI Program Managers oversee day-to-day operations of the One-Stops. The partners contribute to the center's operations in varied ways. All contribute staff time in varying amounts while others also contribute equipment and or curriculum.
The Committee adopted the name Worknet of Merced County to describe their system, and while working in the center, all partner staff wear Worknet name badges. The customers see only that there are many experts to respond to their need for information and services.
All partners receive ongoing training to work in the various resource areas of the center. Monthly meetings of the center staff help them to stay updated in the information about each of the partners as well as any changes in the Center's services.
The Worknet Leadership Team meets quarterly. The Worknet Leadership Team is dedicated to continuous quality improvement and has successfully obtained three center certifications based on statutory and Baldrige criteria. The most recent certification is active through November of 2013. The Worknet Employment Resource Center is the result of an ever-evolving process based on local collaboration.
The three part goal of the Worknet Leadership Team for the Worknet Employment Resource Center is to provide quality customer service, insure customer satisfaction through a “no wrong door” integrated system of services and work together to insure that the Worknet Employment Resource Center meets the certification required by the Workforce Investment Board.
