Child Welfare Services (CWS) is charged with protecting the safety and well-being of all children in the community. CWS investigates all referrals of alleged child abuse or neglect that occurs in the home. When a family becomes involved with CWS, they may work with several social workers. Different services will be offered to both the parent and the child depending upon each family's special needs.
