The Merced County Library Advisory Commission conducts studies and makes recommendations to the Merced County Board of Supervisors
concerning the on-going needs of the library and proposals for future library development.
The Commission acts as an advocate for the library. The Board of Supervisors appoints three members from each Supervisorial District (a total of 15 members) to serve a four-year term on the Commission. The County Librarian and one member of the Board of Supervisors serve as ex-officio members of the Commission.
