Everyone needs friends, and the library is no exception. Just like best friends, the Friends of the Merced County Library, a nonprofit volunteer organization, supports the libraries in the Merced County Library System in every way they can, through volunteer time, book donations, financial contributions, and fundraising events.

This community-based group also operates the bookstore at the main library, supporting the library through its book sale donations.
