CalWORKs assists people on public assistance to move to self-sufficiency through employment and support services. Individuals are expected to participate in activities that provide opportunities to help lift their families out of poverty.
Mental health and alcohol / drug professionals provide services that are designed to help people overcome barriers to employment.
