Food and Nutrition Services is a program of the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) that fights hunger and strives to improve nutrition and health. It assists low-income households in purchasing necessary food for a nutritionally adequate diet.

Households must meet certain income and resource standards in order to receive Food Stamps. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens or belong to certain non-citizen groups that are eligible for the program. Food Stamp benefit amounts are based upon your household size and income.
