- Working After Retirement
The Board of Retirement has adopted resolutions defining normal retirement age as 50 for Safety Employee Members and as age 60 for Miscellaneous Employee Members.
As a retired MCERA member, you may work for a Merced County Employees' Retirement Association (MCERA) participating employer without affecting your monthly retirement benefit as long as you comply with these requirements. Restrictions do apply, so please refer to working for a MCERA employer.
After your retirement you may work in any occupation or employment for an employer other than one of Merced County Employees' Retirement Association (MCERA)'s participating employers, and there is no impact on your MCERA benefit.
