Artist in the Office

Local Artists

The District Attorney's Office supports local artists. Every six months a new artist will display their photographs and/or art work in our front lobby.

If you come into our office right now, you will see the exhibit of Angela Holmes.

Angela Holmes

In 2003, a friend of mine invited me over to paint in her studio after I saw her painting during a church service. I approached her and told her how cool it was that she was painting while everyone else was singing. That same summer, she encouraged me to enter my painting into the Kern County Fair. I placed third and was super excited and thought that maybe I should keep painting. The third place painting is the macau.

I continued to paint and it became a real joy for me. I painted some other pictures, then my art started to turn a bit more ethereal as I started to paint from my imagination. I have participated in three art hops.

Last summer my sister asked me to paint an elephant that she wanted for her living room. When I was finished with the elephant, i decided to paint some other safari and jungle animals.

I admire abstract and surreal art. Therefore, I thought that I would add some non-animal pictures to the collection. I enjoy painting because it gives me a space to let my spiritual freedom have access to my heart, my mind and my body.

When I am not painting, you can find me at Bear Creek Organic Spa giving heavenly facials by appointment only.

You can reach Angela by email at or by phone at (209) 349-2339.
