Apiary Program

Biologists & Bees

Introduction

This program emphasizes the registration and site location of honeybee colonies in Merced County. California requires all beekeepers to register their apiaries with the county agricultural commissioner and where their hives are located. If the bees are used to help pollinate or if they are placed around crops that may be sprayed with pesticides, the beekeeper has the option to be notified before the application occurs.
